Hybrid within London, United Kingdom
The company
Fast, flexible finance empowers small businesses to manage their cash flow better and seize opportunities - making their business and the economy stronger as a whole. At iwoca, we do just that. We help businesses get the funds they need, when they need it, often within minutes. We’ve already made several billion in funding available to over 100,000 businesses since we launched in 2012, and positioned ourselves as a leading Fintech in Europe.
Our mission is to finance one million businesses. We’ll get there by continuing to make our finance ever more relevant and accessible to more businesses by combining cutting-edge technology, data science and a 5-star customer service.
The mission
As we expand our presence and grow our operations across Europe, we are setting up teams focused on specific countries we operate in. You will be joining a newly created team focused on supporting a range of partners and brokers in Germany using our dedicated introducer platform and custom-build Lending API. The DE Introducer Tech team’s missing is two-fold:
Allowing partners and brokers to efficiently interact with iwoca so that their customers can access iwoca finance.
Optimise the conversion and improve experience for referred customers.
The team
The DE Introducer Tech team is a new team of back-end and front-end engineers. They will support partners and brokers in our shared mission to provide efficient, fast and flexible solutions. Together, we will help German SMEs find the liquidity they need, wherever they are looking for it.
Our existing Broker Tech and Partner Tech teams have developed the infrastructure for introducers. These teams will now focus on UK introducers. The new DE Introducer Tech team will collaborate with them, but will take ownership and have autonomy over the DE Introducer Portal.
The role
As a back-end engineer, you will design and develop solutions for broker and partner interactions, which offers they see, when they get paid, and how our operations teams support them. This may involve working on any parts of iwoca’s systems, which are relevant to broker and partner-referred customers, including:
The Lending API: This is how partners integrate with iwoca and refer customers to us. You will develop new features to help partners build better integrations faster, and ensure the API is well-designed and documented, so partners find it easy to use.
The Introducer Portal: This is a dedicated web interface allowing brokers without an API integration to submit applications, receive progress updates on individual customers, select offers and get paid.
The customer-facing web apps: After a customer is referred, they complete subsequent application steps on iwoca’s site. You will work on improving this flow and adding new features.
You will also work with our Technical Integration Managers to help new and existing partners overcome technical challenges. You’ll collaborate with the product team to find opportunities and solve problems. We use custom integrations for our large partnerships, which you will help build and maintain custom integrations with partner APIs.
The requirements:
Essential:
Proficiency in Python with back-end development experience
Experience designing, building, and managing relational databases
Passionate about designing APIs that are easy to use and well-documented.
