For one of our clients, we are looking for a Development Lead (React / Python), remotely from the UK, Poland, or South Africa.

As a Development Lead, you will be responsible for leading one of the scrum teams, driving the development of new functionality and scaling the platform to manage growing customer demands and data volumes. You will mentor your team, providing technical guidance, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time. With a focus on performance, security, and customer success, you'll work in a dynamic, remote-first environment where continuous learning and innovation are key.

Accountabilities:

• Lead a scrum team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality code and the scalability of the platform.

• Mentor and provide guidance to your team, fostering technical and personal development.

• Collaborate with Group Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and other business functions to plan and execute on projects.

• Ensure the platform operates at high performance, with a focus on handling large datasets and maintaining 24/7 uptime.

• Promote a culture of fast and sustainable shipping, ownership, and open communication within the team.

• Drive security and customer success throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with React, Typescript, and Python.

• Expertise in Node.js and working within a software engineering team using git, PRs, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Previous leadership or mentoring experience, ideally within a remote-first team.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

• Experience in high-performance, big data systems or multi-tenant systems is a plus.

• Familiarity with technologies such as Django, MongoDB, Google BigQuery, RabbitMQ, and Azure DevOps is an advantage.
