Junior Software Engineer - Python

The role:

As a Junior Software Engineer on the Integrations team, you will be responsible for contributing to the development, testing, support, and maintenance of our Metrics product. This role involves working as part of a team to implement software solutions that meet business requirements, ensuring the quality and performance of the applications. You will apply foundational technical skills and knowledge to solve problems, contribute to project tasks, and support the overall software development lifecycle.

What you'll do:

  • Engineer backend applications and services using Python.

  • Play a part in one of our agile teams, either kanban or scrum as needed

  • Working on our ever-growing microservices architecture

  • Participate actively in your team’s ceremonies

  • Deliver on features against estimate to a high quality, pairing with other engineers when

necessary

  • Test your and your teammate’s code, both manually and with unit and integration tests where

applicable

  • Practise DevOps, you’re responsible for getting your code to production, supporting and

monitoring its performance via SLOs

  • Use the latest AWS services available to run your code

  • Help design a stable platform to support phenomenal growth

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Have 1-2 years of related experience or an advanced qualification without experience

  • Have experience with Python, SQL, and web development

  • Happy working in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment

  • Keen to develop yourself as an engineer, and want to increase your knowledge and become

a valued member of the Paddle engineering team

  • Proactive and enjoy finding ways to improve code and processes

  • Have a good understanding of software development principles
