Team - Applied AI Engineering

Member of Technical Staff (OpenAI, LP; San Francisco, CA): Accomplish company goals for scaling OpenAI Labs to the first full-scale collaborative public platform for exploring artificial intelligence (AI) models. Contribute to development across the Applied AI platform engineering team by adding new features to the platform and enhancing tooling that supports a robust, scalable, and highly available API platform. Improve the observability of the API platform and use these tools to improve the reliability and performance of core services. Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, researchers, designers, and operations staff. Debug problems across the stack, such as networking issues, performance problems, or memory leaks.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering or related field, plus three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer or related occupation. Must have with the following: designing, implementing, and running production services; languages: Python, Go, Flask, and Java and Javascript; technologies: Kubernetes, React, SQL, AWS, Thrift/gRPC; managing and monitoring infrastructure deployments; debugging problems across the stack (networking issues, performance problems, and memory leaks); optimizing applications for speed and scale; and relational databases (Postgres/MySQL).

Salary: $245,000 – $300,000 per year

We empower developers with APIs offering state-of-the-art AI capabilities, which power product features that were never before possible. We also build AI-driven consumer applications.
