As a Python Engineer, you will be pivotal in designing, developing, and optimizing backend services for SEON’s Data Enrichment product area. You will bridge the gap between foundational engineering contributions and senior technical leadership, driving system improvements, mentoring team members, and delivering reliable and scalable systems integral to SEON’s fraud prevention solutions.
This role will report to the Software Engineering Team Lead and offer flexibility in our Budapest office under a hybrid work schedule.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Technical Contributions
Design and implement robust backend solutions that enhance the scalability, performance, and reliability of Data Enrichment services.
Lead technical investigations and resolve complex issues affecting system performance or reliability.
Contribute to reducing technical debt and improving operational efficiency by implementing technical best practices.
Work with other teams to design and implement cross-team solutions and integrations.
Collaboration and Mentorship
Act as a mentor to junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth.
Actively participate in technical design discussions, helping shape the team’s technical roadmap.
Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to align technical efforts with team and business goals.
Proactively share knowledge and encourage best practices within the team.
Monitoring and Support
Improve monitoring systems and enhance system observability to ensure high availability and reliability.
Proactively identify system bottlenecks and inefficiencies, recommending and implementing solutions.
Support the automation of recovery processes to minimize downtime and error resolution time.
WHAT YOU’ll BRING:
Strong expertise in Python, including RESTful API design.
Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, proxies, and system architecture.
Proven experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Ability to identify, design, and implement scalable and maintainable solutions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
Strong collaboration skills, with experience mentoring and supporting other engineers.
Fluent in English (written and verbal).
NICE TO HAVE:
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Kibana) and CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions).
Familiarity with AWS services, including DynamoDB, Lambda, and Auto Scaling Groups.
Knowledge of additional technologies and platforms, such as:
ElasticSearch
Redis
ArgoCD
