Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong expertise in backend development and AWS cloud services. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building clean, testable, and scalable REST APIs while maintaining best practices in software design and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient RESTful APIs to support frontend applications and third-party integrations.

  • Implement clean, testable, and well-documented code, following best practices in object-oriented design and software architecture.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers, to deliver high-quality features and services.

  • Optimize the performance and scalability of backend systems to support high-availability and large-scale applications.

  • Integrate and manage cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, including services like Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, and others as needed.

  • Implement automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, to ensure code reliability and minimize bugs in production.

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements, ensuring smooth and reliable deployments to various environments.

  • Monitor application health and performance, using observability tools and logging best practices to detect and resolve issues proactively.

  • Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions to promote code quality, maintainability, and team learning.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing REST APIs with Python.

  • 2+ years of experience deploying and running code on AWS Lambda, with hands-on experience using DynamoDB and RDS.

  • Strong understanding of clean code principles and separation of concerns.

  • Ability to write comprehensive endpoint and unit tests.

  • Experience with Serverless Framework and GitHub Actions is a nice-to-have.

  • Experience with TypeScript is a nice-to-have.
