** Our client is one of the largest multimedia companies in Latin America that delivers news and other media content to their audience. The company has recognized the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and has embarked on a journey to build a solution based on AI that will generate high-quality content, shorten the time to release, and increase overall engagement and efficiency.
They are looking for more engineers to join this project and specifically help with building backend functionalities and APIs that will facilitate the communication between AI engine and user applications.

Role Overview:
** The client is looking for a senior backend developer with strong experience in Python and API development to join our engineering team.

Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend services

• Create and optimize RESTful APIs

• Work with relational and non-relational databases

• Implement best practices in security and data handling

• Collaborate with frontend and design teams to integrate services

• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers

About the role:

• This opportunity is a long-term contract with Workana

• The compensation is paid in USD on a monthly schedule

• The process is the following: Technical Assessment and Interview with Workana, Technical and Cultural interview with the client

Requirements

• Mandatory

  • 5+ years of backend development experience with Python

  • Proficiency with web frameworks such as Django or Flask

  • Strong experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs

  • Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL and MongoDB

  • Familiarity with microservices architectures and containers (Docker)

  • Experience with version control systems (Git)

  • Performance optimization and scalability skills

  • Knowledge of web security and data protection

• Desired

  • Experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

  • Knowledge of CI/CD and agile methodologies

  • Familiarity with frontend technologies (JavaScript, React)

  • Experience with automated testing and TDD
