TEAM
The Map Delivery Platform team in Tokyo, Japan, is a culturally diverse team working on cutting-edge software on Cloud and Embedded to develop next-gen Automotive technology. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining mapping tools that are used for accelerating our map related initiatives. By providing reliable and user-friendly toolings, we empower stakeholders to effortlessly visualize and analyze geospatial data in a variety of formats.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking a highly skilled backend engineer with a strong background in geospatial technologies who is passionate about creating user-friendly platforms for data visualization and analysis. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop efficient, secure, and scalable solutions that enhance overall efficiencies handling geo spatial data. Your contributions should accelerate the development of AD/ADAS applications, driving the achievement of the department's strategic goals.
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for geospatial data processing and visualization, utilizing Python, Django, and modern cloud technologies (40% of time)
* Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, write comprehensive test suites using frameworks such as Pytest, and ensure code quality through Test-Driven Development practices (20% of time)
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate various mapping technologies and optimize data processing workflows using tools like Geoserver and GeoNode (20% of time)
* Participate in code reviews and discussions on best practices for geospatial application development (10% of time)
* Research and evaluate new technologies and methodologies to improve the platform's performance and capabilities (10% of time)
* 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
* Experience in modern programming languages in the backend, such as Rust, Go, or Python
* Experience in planning and applying new engineering practices to improve an engineering team's efficiency and quality of work
* Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS and managing the infrastructure with IaC like Terraform.
* Basic security knowledge includes authentication, encryption, and network security protocols
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in Computer Science or related fields
* Working proficiency in English
* Experience in the geospatial or mapping domain
* Experience building commercial-grade web services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
* Japanese language skills
