Software Engineer

Description

WINGS ICT Solutions is looking for an experienced Software Engineer. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable web services and APIs using the Django framework while enhancing and maintaining our existing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable backend services.

• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.

• Conduct code reviews and mentor team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.

• Optimize and enhance existing services for performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Frontend Developers, and DevOps, to align on requirements and deliver effective solutions.

• Ensure seamless deployment, integration, and operation of backend services in production environments.

• Proactively diagnose and resolve production issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.

Requirements

Educational requirements:

* Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering or equivalent field. 
* Master's Degree in the areas mentioned above will be a plus.  

Essential technical skills:

• At least 3 years of proven professional experienceas a SW Engineer

• Proven working experience with Django framework and Python programming

• Expertise in building and maintaining RESTful APIs

• Familiarity with database systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB

• Experience working in collaborative environments with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of front-end technologies is a plus

• Experience with Development in cloud (or Virtual) environments, such as AWS

• Familiarity with Docker components

• Knowledge of deployment pipelines and CI/CD tools is a plus.
