Software Engineer

Two Circles is a global sports agency, connecting fans with sport properties using data. We work with some of the world’s biggest sports organisations – including the NFL, Premier League, Formula 1, Wimbledon and UEFA – and have four times been named Sport Industry Agency of the Year.

We have a team of just over 500 Two Circlers working from six offices across the world (London, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Bern and Melbourne) who work cross-region to service our expanding international client base.

Every day, our team analyses billions of pieces of behavioural, attitudinal and purchase data from sports fans spanning the globe, using the latest machine-learning and data visualisation technology. As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking to innovate with our technology stack and are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our growing team and help us deliver innovative data solutions for clients and build our data management and analytics platform.

Role Profile:

As a software engineer you will play a key role in our team of engineers designing, building, testing & supporting web & app solutions that make our Data products accessible to users. With a passion for technology you will help drive innovative solutions for our clients, always pushing for higher standards and better quality. Hands on with our Azure tech stack you will get experience with all Front End aspects including React, Django, Azure Web apps, Azure SQL and all of our Python based APIs and Integrations .

Working within a talented team of engineers you will have huge opportunities to learn and develop your skillset. Delivery is managed using Agile methodologies and you will embody the principles of integration, innovation, learning, communication and teamwork.

This role will be part of the Technology Team.

Your main duties & responsibilities:

• Build, unit test and contribute to design of aspects of our Django and React based Configuration hub and associated Services.

• Hands on development of React based front end, Django based API and business logic and our custom Meta/confirmation Database.

• Thorough and high-quality automated Unit testing

• Input into Integration, regression and use case testing

• Creation of accurate, insightful & informative technical documentation

• Support and Maintenance of our Data management and Analytics solutions

• Bug Fixes

• Release warranty before Operation handover

• Performance analysis & improvement

• Handover and upskill of Operational teams

• High communication through JIRA, Planned meetings and one to one connections.

• Feedback and improvement through continual learning and retrospectives

The ideal background and skills we are looking for include:

• A passion for technology with a flair for finding innovative solutions

• Experience in developing web app solutions with the following technical skills:

• Python

• Django

• API/Integration experience, understanding of REST principals

• ReactJS

• A talent for design with a keen eye for detail, structured thinking and best practice with experience of MVC concepts

• Identifying and analysing business, client or project requirements and translating them into technical deliverables

• A team player who contributes to collective goals above personal gain

Experience with the following would also be beneficial:

• Source control including branching, merging & pull requests ideally using GIT

• SQL

• Working within an Azure environment

• Automated Unit Testing, ideally using Pytest

• Typescript

• Spark/PySpark

• Umbraco WCMS or .Net frameworks

• Working within an Agile delivery framework

• Object Orientated design experience
