We’re looking for a Software Engineer to play a crucial role in advancing our mission!

Software Engineer

In this role, you’ll work closely with the development team to implement features and translate user stories into code. You’ll contribute to new software projects, assisting with technical tasks and helping ensure projects run smoothly and the team maintains a steady pace.

You’ll be involved in maintaining software quality through agile practices, including test-driven development and continuous integration/automated testing. You’ll also participate in pair programming sessions with your teammates to enhance learning and collaboration.

You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers across the business, gaining exposure to various aspects of software development. You'll receive guidance from senior team members to help you deliver consistent, high-quality software.

Lastly, you’ll assist in software documentation efforts, ensuring all documentation aligns with development plans and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in a STEM related subject

  • Some industry experience in developing software products or software features as part of a product development process.

  • Experience with frontend and/or backend development using React-native/Angular, FastAPI /Flask/Django and database backend, or developing software interfacing with hardware or software services using TCP/IP, UART, CAN or any other comms protocols.

  • Good appreciation of OOP approaches and use of modern software design patterns for developing mixed desktop/enterprise applications, interfacing with low-level peripherals using proprietary communication interfaces or to cloud-native services via RESTful APIs.

  • Experience in developing software for service-oriented systems (such as RESTful services, microservice architectures), and integrating with cloud-based SaaS or third-party, external software services.

  • Familiarity with designing distributed systems using message-oriented systems or event-based systems, such as MQTT/RabbitMQ/Redis/Kafka.

  • Proficient in at least one modern language such as Python, Java, C# , modern C++.

  • Some experience with cloud Integration and IoT Devices with GCP, Azure, or AWS.

  • Knowledge of software system virtualisation and containersation.

  • Experience of developing software for regulated system would be advantageous.
